About the Voinovich School
The George V. Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs is a multidisciplinary school at Ohio University named after U.S. Senator George V. Voinovich, a 1958 graduate of Ohio University, to honor his distinguished career in public service.
The Voinovich School is comprised of faculty and professional staff members who work in multidisciplinary project groups with students and faculty from various departments and colleges across Ohio University. These groups work with business, non-profit, and government partners on applied research and other projects that help solve problems and meet the needs of Appalachian Ohio and the state.
The Voinovich School also partners with the other colleges and academic units at Ohio University to educate students and provide them with unique learning opportunities. In addition to the more than 100 students that work at the Voinovich School each year, the Voinovich School plays an integral role in the delivery of the Integrated Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program, and the Master of Science in Environmental Studies (MSES) program.
The work of the Voinovich School is focused in three main areas – Public Service and Leadership, Energy and the Environment, and Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness. In each of these three areas, the School helps manage degree programs and has an established track record in conducting applied research and providing services that address regional and state problems.
